Don Fuchs has been playing the drums since elementary school. He began taking lessons from Joe Gerahty at Ludwig Music Studio on Grand Avenue in St. Louis. Later he received instruction from Mark Miller who now resides in Memphis, Tennessee.

Don's first rock band was in high school with fellow CBCers (Christian Brothers College) Mick White and Gil Roosman when they hit the CYC (Catholic Youth Council) circuit.

Don has been in numerous Herron/Mehas stage productions including "Hey World" and "The Inspector Goes West". He played the lead in the musical "Augie" which was performed in St. Louis and received very good reviews from the Post Dispatch newspaper.

Later, when the Intrigues vocal group became part of the band, the name was changed to the Chantell's Revue. Horns, keyboard, bass, lead, percussion and six vocalists made this quite a show which played at not only most of the major venues in the St. Louis area, but also in Kansas and Illinois.

Since leaving the Chantell's Revue, Don has "sat-in" with bands in San Francisco and many of the great bands in mid-America including Bob Kuban, Trilogy, Butchwax and the Hollywoods, Smash Band, and the Motown Revue.

The Impacts was his next musical stop. Some of the musicians from this band joined together to form a large "soul band", The Chantells, which played both the "Memphis" and "Motown" sounds.

Some of the members of this group included Ron Carr, Ed Liberty, Mike Schmidt, John Feltner, Rich Smith, Rick Drysdale, John O' Neil, Bill Sextro (now in Smash Band - www.smashband.com , Kevin Harter, Tom Doyle, Judy Marino, Mike Vlatkovich (plays with Brian Setzer), Tim Signorelli, Jack Allensworth, Kim Brown, Tom Strubhart, and Bob Wall.
